南海仲裁結果出爐前夕，行政院長林全12日出席第40屆金鼎獎頒獎典禮前接受媒體訪問時強調，台灣對於南海諸島主權立場很堅定，即使仲裁結果對我不利，政府對於擁有太平島主權的立場不會改變。
行政院長林全：『(原音)這部分我們之前有就相關立場，國安單位也有做一些分析，同時我們也有擬定既定立場，就是我們對於南海諸島包含對於太平島在內的主權，這部分我們是非常堅定的表示，我們是擁有這個主權 (記者:萬一仲裁結果對我們島的主權是不利？)我想那個部分對我們是沒有約束的，我們的立場是不會因為這些有所改變。』
