馬林魚在主場和紅雀的第4戰，鈴木一朗沒有先發，他和新來的先發投手，AndrewCashner兩個人有說有笑，感覺好像是很熟的朋友，一朗一直到7局下半，才上場代打。

整場比賽唯一的打擊機會，又槓龜，一朗大聯盟安打數，依然停在2998支，距離3000安打俱樂部越來越近，只差2支了，42歲的鈴木一朗，即便是身經百戰，經驗豐富，還是會感到壓力，最近10場主場比賽，2場先發，17個打數僅2安打，總教練DonMattingly表示，一朗連一些壞球都揮棒，有點不像他，不過，他的守備，還是值得稱讚，雷射肩幫了投手大忙。

從左外野直接回傳本壘，讓KoltenWong在本壘前飲恨，生涯第122次助殺，大聯盟現役球員排第3，總教練也讚不絕口。
記者vs.馬林魚總教練馬丁利：「（鈴木一朗的傳球呢），相當好，我認為就是一朗是個很棒的球員，看他打球很有趣。」
